Aluminium
Aluminium plants: service, retrofits and new machines
Servicing machines in aluminium plants, including third-party machines, is an area where we have extensive experience. Beyond service, we can upgrade the controls on an existing machine or add a custom machine to the line.
Service starts with understanding the machine: the controller software, the drives, the sensors and whatever documentation already exists. After diagnosis we fix it and record the work in the machine's technical log, so the next visit starts from a known point.
Many automated saw lines at an aluminium plant, mostly built in Taiwan, were delivered with no documentation or vendor support. We worked them out and had them back in operation in under one business day. More on automated saw lines back in operation.
What we can do for a line in an aluminium plant:
- Service and maintenance on call-out or under a service plan: a monthly bank of hours, priority on service calls, and after-hours and weekend call-outs for when the line can't afford to stop.
- A control upgrade for a machine whose software is undocumented or whose parts are no longer available: a new PLC, VFDs, sensors and an operator interface, built on the existing machine.
- A custom machine or automated cell for a step on the line that's still done by hand.
Food and beverage
Food and beverage plants: edible oils, salads, soft drinks
Automation and controls for food and beverage plants usually start with the machines already on the line. We have extensive experience servicing machines in edible-oil, salad and soft-drink plants, including third-party machines.
On a food or beverage line, one machine down can stop the whole day's production plan. So service starts with understanding the machine, its controller and the existing documentation, and every job is recorded in a technical log.
What we can do in a food or beverage plant:
- Service and maintenance for existing machines, on call-out or under a service plan, including machines from other builders.
- Control upgrades: a new controller, drives and operator interface for an older machine, without replacing the whole machine.
- Inspection and quality control on the line: an automated test station or a camera check, for example of the label, the cap or the fill level.
If you're looking for food processing machines from a catalogue, we offer something different: service and upgrades for the machines you already have, and a custom machine when nothing off the shelf fits a step on your line.
Next steps
What you can add later: machine vision and AI agents
Once the machines run and the controls are up to date, you can add two layers: automatic inspection of every part, and an agent that handles the paperwork around the line.
Machine vision: a camera, lighting and software that check every part against the same criterion and keep a record, instead of a visual check that depends on the shift. The technology is chosen per station, from classic OpenCV vision to YOLO object detection and vision-language models, starting with a feasibility test on real samples from your line.
Machine vision for quality control
AI agents: once there's a proper technical log and data from the line, an agent could turn service records into draft work orders, build a daily production report or draft a non-conformance report. It connects to production systems read-only, never writes to PLCs, and a person approves every key step. AI agent implementation is Conceptech's newest service line, and it is the natural next step once the log and the line data are in place.
From our projects
What have we done for manufacturers?
Full automation for a building-products plant
We designed, assembled and delivered the controls, motion, actuation and sensors, through to on-site commissioning.
Automated saw lines back in operation
Many lines at an aluminium plant had no documentation or vendor support. Back in operation in under one business day.
Services
Which services fit a plant?
01
Machine service and maintenance
Fault-finding, preventive maintenance and upgrades, on call-out or under a service plan, including third-party machines.
02
Custom machines for the line
A machine or cell for a step still done by hand: mechanical design, controls, and testing in the workshop and on site.
03
Machine vision for quality control
Camera, lighting and software that check every part the same way, starting with a feasibility test on your samples.
04
Motion control and PLC programming
PLC programming to IEC 61131-3, VFDs and motors, and real-time motion control over EtherCAT.
05
AI agents on plant data
An agent that drafts production reports, NCRs and work orders from your data, read-only and with human sign-off.
Engineering for manufacturers: FAQ
Do you service machines built by another manufacturer?
Yes. We service third-party machines and equipment, with extensive experience in aluminium plants and in food and beverage plants: edible oils, salads and soft drinks. We start by understanding the machine, its controller and the existing documentation, then diagnose and fix, on call-out or under a service plan.
A machine is down and the line has stopped. How fast do you respond?
We usually reply within 3 working hours, by email or phone. On that first call we work out what happened and agree the next step. Plants on a service plan get priority on service calls, and each machine's technical log means diagnosis starts from a known point. The service plan also covers after-hours and weekend call-outs.
Which parts of Israel do you cover?
We work with plants in Israel and come to the plant for site visits, installation and service. On the first call we go through the location, the machine and how urgent it is, and arrange the visit accordingly. Machine builders abroad looking for someone to service their machines in Israel can contact us the same way.
What documentation do we get at the end?
Documentation that lets your maintenance team understand what was done and carry on from it. For service: a technical log per system and a service report. For a control upgrade or a new machine: drawings, electrical schematics, the controller software, factory and site acceptance test results, and training for operators and maintenance. Ownership of the files and software is agreed in the contract for each project.
Where do we start?
With a call with an engineer about the machine or the line. Send a photo or a short video and a description of what's getting in the way; from there we move on to a site visit and a diagnosis. After the diagnosis you get a written proposal for the next step, and the duration is estimated after the initial evaluation.
Tell us about the machine or the line, and an engineer will reply
Describe what the machine or station does today, what's getting in the way and what you'd like to change. A photo or a short video helps us understand it on the first call.
Usually a reply within 3 working hours, by email or phone
